In today’s society, it seems that everyone is seeking something — seeking knowledge, insight, acceptance, the latest and greatest of everything. As a wellness coach, I often find myself reminding clients of what they already have. There is so much inside each of us that we aren’t tapping into, acknowledging or leaning on as we go through our days. Take these reminders and carry them with you to remember that you are all you need to be.
Be Aware of Your Strength
Many of us don’t realize our strength until it is tested. Think back to a time you were tested and how you handled the situation. What were you able to accomplish that you didn’t believe you could? All of us have strength inside and it shows itself in a variety of ways. Maybe your strength is bringing peace to a chaotic situation. Perhaps your strength is caring for others as they grieve. You may have realized your personal strength as you personally grieved and came out on the other side.
Accept Your Truth
To accept your truth, you must start by releasing fear of judgement and allow yourself to be who and what feels naturally right. Personal truths are similar to virtues and values and are guidance for how you live your life. Embrace them and let them guide you. If you aren’t sure of your truths yet, spend time journaling, meditating or out in nature considering who the real you is and what moves you.
Be Accountable to Change
Personal growth requires accountability to being open to change. Only with change can we grow and evolve. Though changes can be bumpy at the start, so often change is what bring us our greatest gifts and joys in life. Be open to it.
Acknowledge Your Desires
Somewhere deep within (or maybe not so deep!), you know what your desires are. If photography has been pulling at you to capture memories and let your creativity flow, acknowledge it! If you dream of a different career than the one you have, work toward it. Your deep desires are not silly, and they are not to be ignored. Follow your desires to find the happiness and fulfillment you’ve been longing for.
And remember, you are all you need to be. Look within to discover new parts of yourself, and allow those desires, thoughts and feelings to spill over into your life. When you live through your truths, you allow your authentic self to shine and put your mark on the world.
